A simple, fast and secure transfer
The microchip transfer feature allows business accounts to simplify changing ownership of a pet after injection or during a change of custody. From the Identrac Pro portal, you can initiate a transfer request, invite the new owner to accept the animal into their account and ensure that all important information remains associated with the microchip. The process is simple, safe and designed to preserve the animal's complete history throughout its life.
1. Initiate the transfer of the animal
Quickly invite the new owner
From your Identrac Pro account, select the animal to be transferred and enter the new owner's details to send them a transfer invitation. If the person already has an Identrac account, their basic information—such as email and phone number—may appear, allowing for quick identity confirmation and a smoother transfer process.
2. The owner receives the invitation
A clear invitation by email
The new owner receives an email alert inviting them to complete the process. If they do not yet have an Identrac account, they can easily create one. Once connected, they will be able to view the request and officially accept the transfer of the animal into their account.
3. The animal is transferred to the correct account
A microchip associated with the new owner
When the transfer is accepted, the animal is automatically associated with the new owner's account. The microchip remains linked to the animal, which ensures continuity in its identification and reduces the risk of error or loss of information.
4. Security and permanent history
The information follows the animal throughout its life
The transfer preserves the animal's important information, including its file, medical history, health record and information associated with its microchip. Everything remains permanently linked to the animal, in order to preserve a reliable, secure and accessible trace throughout its life.
