A quick and frictionless recording
The microchip pre-registration function allows veterinarians to simplify an animal's registration at the time of microchip implantation.
From the Identrac Pro portal, the clinic can quickly associate a microchip with an owner, without complex forms or wasted time at reception.
The owner then completes their information directly on a tablet, phone or from the link received by email or text message.
The essential information is therefore immediately and permanently linked to the microchip, while still allowing the owner the option to complete their file online afterwards.
1. Scan the microchip barcode
A quick first step from the Pro portal
Log in to your Identrac Pro account, then go to the pre-registration section. Simply scan the barcode on the microchip packaging to automatically link the correct number to the animal's record.
2. Return the device to the owner
The owner enters their own information
Once the microchip has been scanned, give the tablet or phone to the pet owner. They can then enter their basic information directly into the form, which reduces transcription errors and speeds up the registration process.
3. The owner receives a confirmation
Registration to be completed online
Following pre-registration, the owner receives an email or text message inviting them to finalize the microchip registration. They can then provide additional information about their pet. Even though the record still needs to be finalized, the essential details are already permanently linked to the microchip.
4. View and track pre-registrations
Simple tracking within your professional portal
In your Identrac Pro portal, you can review the basic information entered during pre-registration. You can also check if the owner has completed the full online registration of their pet. Everything is centralized, secure, and easy to track.
5. The health record remains linked to the microchip.
Pre-registration makes it possible to link the microchip to the correct animal and owner right from the start.
Throughout the animal's life, its medical history, health record, important information, and file updates can remain directly linked to its microchip. This ensures a reliable, secure, and permanent record, even if the animal changes clinics, owners, or living environments.
